Government urged to help HPF

Udhagamandalam: The government has been requested to release a sum of Rs. 35 crores to the Hindustan Photo Films towards working capital, said the Union Minister for Communications and Information Technology A.Raja while speaking to reporters here on Sunday.

He added that the district administration has been asked to form a Committee to go into the problems relating to the use of a road at Kodanad near Kotagiri. It will submit a report within fifteen days.

The implementation of a master plan to develop this hill station and promote tourism will be taken up with the Prime Minister.

To a query on the lands particularly in Gudalur area which come under the ambit of Tamil Nadu Preservation of Private Forests Act, he said that doubts have been clarified by the district administration.
