PATHANAMTHITTA: The Church of South India has won the International Environment Conservation Award instituted by Alliance for Religious Conservation, in association with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The Alliance of Religious Conservation was established by Prince Philip of Great Britain. The award was presented by Ban Ki-moon, United Nations Secretary-General, at a function at Windsor Castle in London recently. Philip John received the award from the UN Secretary-General on behalf of the CSI Synod Ecological Concerns Committee chairman and CSI Madhya Kerala diocese Bishop Thomas Samuel. The award panel paid accolades to the contributions of the committee headed by the Bishop Samuel. — Staff Reporter
