‘Issue ration cards for sex workers’

NEW DELHI: The Bhartiya Patita Uddhar Sabha has demanded that ration cards be provided to eligible sex workers living in the red-light area of Delhi so that they are able to purchase food items at concessional rates.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Sabha president Khairati Lal Bhola appealed to the State Food and Civil Supplies Minister Haroon Yusuf to depute a mobile van to the area to get the credentials of the sex workers examined so that they could be issued ration cards.
