Huge cache of firearms seized in Patna

BIG CATCH: Police personnel collecting the bullets seized from a house in Patna on Sunday.

Patna: Close on the heels of seizure of bomb making materials from an abandoned truck here on Saturday night, the police with the help of STF on Sunday seized a huge cache of firearms and ammunition from a house here.

Special Task Force (STF) Superintendent of Police Prakash Sinha said six country made carbines, eight semi-prepared carbines, two country made pistols, 7221 live cartridges of 12 bore gun, fifty detonators, zinc oxide and other chemicals used for making bombs were seized from the rented part of a house owned by retired government employee.

Mr. Sinha said that 300 kg of bomb-making materials were recovered from an abandoned truck near old by-pass road in Kankerbagh locality late on Saturday night. — PTI
