ELURU: The police on Sunday arrested a 20-year-old youth from the city for allegedly committing burglaries in the guise of a courier service boy and recovered gold jewellery from him. According to DSP Y. Saisekhar, the accused was engaged by a leading courier service provider. The DSP said the youth Dasari Ravi Teja was alleged to have critically wounded a 70-year-old woman Devarakonda Sakuntala, wife of an advocate, with a stick and relieved her of jewellery, leaving the victim in a pool of blood at Panugantivari Street in the city a couple of days ago. Ravi Teja recced the house of Ms. Sakuntala when he delivered parcels earlier. He committed the offence, acting as delivering a parcel. She is under treatment in a corporate hospital.
