Animation Day celebrated

Bangalore: Professionals from the animation industry on Sunday celebrated International Animation Day in the city. Nearly 5,000 professionals, including students, took part in the celebrations, which were held at Sophia High School.

Ashok Kumar C. Manoli, Principal Secretary, Information Technology and Biotechnology, inaugurated the event. He said the Government would consider giving the animation industry the same status as IT and BT industry. The industry, which has provided jobs to nearly two lakh people in the country, hopes to employ 20 lakh people in the next five years.
