Indonesian Navy ship to arrive today

Kochi: Indonesian Navy ship KRI Diponegoro will dock here on Sunday on a three-day port call.

Commanded by Lieutenant Colonel (Navy) Arsyad Abdullah, the 1,700 tonne SIGMA (Ship Integrated Geometrical Modularity Approach) class corvette is on its way to Jakarta after completing a six-month deployment in Lebanon as part of the Maritime Task Force of the United Nations Interim Force (UNIF) there. Its last port call was at Salalah in Oman.

Indonesian Ambassador to India, Lieutenant General (Retd.) Andi M Ghalib, who is in town in connection with the arrival of the ship, will call on Vice-Admiral K.N. Sushil, Flag Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Southern Naval Command, on Monday. The ship will leave Kochi on Tuesday.
