Hyderabad: Some of the country’s best riders will line up for the second round of the Gulf Cup Dirt Track Racing for two-wheelers at the NTR Stadium, in Domalguda, Hyderabad, on November 8 from 9 a.m. onwards. The second leg of the event, sponsored by Gulf Oil Corporation Ltd. and organised by Sportscraft, Mumbai under the aegis of the Andhra Pradesh Motor Sports Club (APMSC) and Kart Kave Hyderabad, should see plenty of action and excitement. After his brilliant showing in Jaipur, Pramod Joshua, who leads the overall standings, will seek to consolidate and garner points to seal a place in the fourth and final round — the Clash of Titans. In Jaipur, Joshua, riding a TVS RTR 125 FX, won two races each in Indian Expert classes for Indian motorcycles up to 260cc and Indian Expert Class for foreign motorcycles up to 250cc two & four-stroke. He faced a strong challenge from his TVS team and city mates K.P. Arvind and H.K. Pradeep, both seasoned riders, and it should be no different here. To be eligible for the Clash of Titans, riders must compete in at least two of the three rounds of the event. A maximum of 15 and a minimum of six riders will be selected from the three qualifying rounds based on their overall showing. It is imperative that the rider should have taken the start and finish in at least two of the three rounds to qualify for Gulf Cup Dirt Track Racing - Clash of Titans. Cumulative points of the three rounds will be considered for eligibility to the final round in the respective classes. Local talent will have to watch out for Nashik’s Shamim Khan, who leads the Indian Expert - Foreign Motorcycles Group A class, Fabio Chindhy, Maninder Singh, Vineeth Kurup, Abhishek Mishra, Jes David, Pinkesh Thakkar and Snehal Chavan in the lower classes.
