Montessori Mahila Kalasala organises national seminar

Opportunities in marketing arena in rural areas immense


VIJAYAWADA: Experts, at a national seminar organised by the Montessori Mahila Kalasala here on Saturday, advised students to explore the opportunities being created in the service sector across the world.

Y.R. Haragopal Reddy, Vice-Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University, who inaugurated the seminar, said that the developed countries were witnessing a phenomenal growth in the services sector and there were a lot of job opportunities.

This was greatly contributing to the economic growth of such countries.

T. Umamaheswara Rao, head, Department of Commerce and Business Administration, ANU, said that before finding new areas for growth, the institutions should focus on reinforcing the existing services for maximising their performance and returns.

New growth areas

A greater focus was required to be placed on strengthening of the marketing services in the country.

Lalitha Ramakrishnan, professor, Department of Management Studies, Pondicherry University, said that the spectacular growth in the software sector led to landmark changes in the creation of new markets and new areas of growth. She spoke elaborately on the existing opportunities in marketing arena in rural areas.

Speaking as chief guest, C.S.G. Krishnamacharyulu, director, SVIM, Tirupati, said that companies should place emphasis on providing quality products and improve service to the people. He said that many companies recognised the importance of meeting goals in customer satisfaction.

Montessori Mahila Kalasala director V.V. Krishna Rao presided over the meeting, while secretary and correspondent V. Koteswaramma spoke. P. Venkateswara Rao, head, PG Department of Business Administration, explained the theme of the seminar.
