‘Call for tenders’

Karwar: Members of the Honnavar Taluk Contractors’ Association have urged the Government to stop distribution of piece work on contract and instead allot work to contractors through the tender process. In a release they said that work done was of inferior quality because piece work was given on contract. Contractors have to work under pressure of the officials concerned. And, the Right to Information Act is used by some people to harass contractors.
