PATHANAMTHITTA: Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy has said the Congress had made its stand clear on the re-induction of K. Murleedharan into the party fold and the statements made by individuals in this regard should be taken as their personal view. Mr. Chandy, who was in the town to inaugurate the Sambava Maha Sabha (SMS) State meet on Saturday, was responding to reporters queries on the reported statement of Union Minister of State for Home Mullappally Ramachandran favouring Mr. Muraleedharan’s re-entry into the Congress. He said every Congress worker was free to express his or her view points and Mr. Ramachandran’s statement too should be taken in that spirit. Earlier, inaugurating the SMS meet, Mr. Chandy said it was the previous United Democratic Front government led by A.K. Antony that had launched the initiative to provide land for the landless Scheduled Tribe and Scheduled Caste people.
