COIMBATORE: Chief Secretary K.S. Sripathy reviewed here on Friday the implementation of the Pilloor Phase II drinking water scheme. The scheme is being implemented at Rs.113 crore by the Coimbatore Corporation under the Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM). Mr. Sripathy inspected the works to lay pipes from Periya Kombai Hills to the treatment plant at Velliyankadu at Rs.2.23 crore. Forest landCorporation Commissioner Anshul Mishra was with the Chief Secretary during the review. The handing over of forest land to the Corporation to set up a pumping station was also discussed. Mr. Sripathy discussed the progress of the works with the Commissioner and the Superintending Engineer with the Department of Municipal Administration and Water Supply R. Raghunathan. The Chief Secretary wanted the works to be completed within the fixed time limit, a press release issued by the JNNURM wing at the Corporation said. He also planted a sapling at Velliyankadu.
