State plans model integrated townships

HYDERABAD: The State government has devised a model integrated townships plan under the public-private partnership model to address the housing shortage to some extent, according to Housing Minister C. Shilpa Mohan Reddy.

Inaugurating a seminar on ‘Housing for all’ organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) here on Saturday, he said, “Given the magnitude of the housing shortage and budgetary constraints, it is imperative that the real estate sector is encouraged fully to play its due role in helping achieve our goal of providing housing for all.”

The State government, the Minister said, had taken various initiatives under the PPP model in the housing sector.
