BANGALORE: The Bharatiya Janata Party rebel faction leader and Minister G. Janardhana Reddy continued to attack Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa even after holding parleys with the party high command in Delhi. However, he expressed confidence that the high command would take a “right” decision in a day or two to end the crisis. Addressing a press conference in Bangalore on Saturday after holding discussions with ministers Karunakara Reddy and B. Sriramulu on his return from Hyderabad where dissident MLAs are camping in a luxury hotel, Mr. Janardhana Reddy accused Mr. Yeddyurappa of effecting a reshuffle in the bureaucracy in Bellary and Gadag districts to create a “fear psychosis”.

“We were doing good work in Bellary and Gadag and have taken up the task of building 50,000 houses for the flood-affected people. But Yajamana (head of the family) is trying to put a spoke in these works by transferring Gadag Deputy Commissioner and 61 officials in both the districts besides suspending eight officials. The main aim is to prevent us from moving forward and becoming popular,” he said. They had briefed the party high command about all these issues “in the interest of the State and the BJP,” he said and expressed confidence that the high command would provide a right solution to them in a day or two.

Asked if they were still committed to their demand for a leadership change, Mr. Reddy said: “We are committed to all the demands raised by us earlier.”
