Prohibitory orders clamped on Tiruttani taluk

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: The Tiruvallur district administration on Saturday clamped prohibitory orders under 144 of the CrPc, on Tiruttani taluk.

This comes in the wake of the ‘land retrieval movement’ planned by the Tamil Nadu Vivasayigal Sangam on November 9 to reclaim the government lands in Kaverirajapuram villages allegedly grabbed by Karnataka Chief Justice P.D. Dinakaran.

Tiruttani Tashildar R. Vijayaraghuvulu, in his capacity as the Executive Magistrate, issued the orders after the peace talks with the Sangam failed on Friday.

The orders will be in force for 15 days from November 7.
