Driver killed in bus accident

Kozhikode: A driver of a private bus was killed and 55 persons sustained injures when the vehicle collided with another private bus at Thazhapadanilam near Kunnamangalam in the district on Saturday. The deceased has been identified as K. Shaji, 30, the police said.

Among the seriously injured is the driver of the second bus. He, along with a number of passengers, has been admitted to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital.

In another incident, a lorry driver suffered injuries when his lorry hit a private bus at Feroke in the outskirts of the city. Twenty passengers of the bus also sustained minor injuries, the police said.
