Man arrested on assault charges

NAMAKKAL: A man was arrested for reportedly assaulting a government official near here on Friday. The police said Thavamani, a farmer, and another person Subramani entered into an argument with Village Administrative Officer Shanthi of Rangappanaickanpalayam over an issue. It was said that the duo allegedly assaulted the official. Based on a complaint, the police arrested the farmer. A search is on.
