ADILABAD: It was certainly an experience with a difference for the 300 tribal high school students who were introduced to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), concept and functioning by no less a person than its Regional Director at Hyderabad, Dr. N. Krishna Mohan. The top banking official spoke on the subject at a Financial Literacy programme at the Tribal Welfare Residential School for boys at Ichoda mandal head quarters. The rapt attention with which the students listened to the introduction was an indicator of the curiosity aroused by the topic. This was the first time ever that tribal students were given a lecture on this aspect of the economy. Dr. Krishna Mohan and State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) managing director Renu Challu had participated in a host of programmes organised at Adilabad in connection with the platinum jubilee celebrations of the RBI. They participated in the soiled and mutilated notes exchange mela at SBH branches.
