Karwar: The carcass of a samba deer was recovered from a well by the forest officials in Bhatkal on Saturday morning. The residents informed the officials of the presence of the animal in the well. The officials, with the help of the fire service personnel, pumped out the water from the well after which the carcass was pulled out using ropes. According to the forest officials, the samba deer had slipped into the well accidentally and had died.
