Organisations can book the auditorium online from Jan. 1 HYDERABAD: The Department of Culture launched a website on Ravindra Bharathi, which will be useful for artistes and art-lovers and enable online booking of the auditorium across Andhra Pradesh. Information and Culture Minister J. Geeta Reddy formally inaugurated the website ( www.ravindrabharathi.org) at brief function here on Saturday. Speaking to reporters, the Minister said any cultural organisation could now book the main auditorium, the mini-theatre and conference-hall for use from January 1, 2010. These facilities, however, had already been booked manually till December 31, 2009. Advance bookingShe said the booking could be made 125 days in advance of the proposed use and once application was made online, confirmation would be conveyed to the concerned party through e-mail after a five-day processing. However, priority would be given to cultural programmes in line with the government’s priorities. The 1,104-seater auditorium is one of the main venues for cultural programmes in the city. It was modernised at a cost of Rs. 1.2 crore in 2006. An elevator is being provided shortly to enable audience to reach balconies of the main auditorium, the mini-theatre and conference-hall.
