New NGO launched

VISAKHAPATNAM: Retired Indian Economic Service officer C.S. Rao on Saturday inaugurated Association for Welfare Activities for Rural Development.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Rao said the citizens and NGOs should come forward to supplement the efforts of the government for the well-being of society.

The new NGO announced that it would work in medical and health, education and employability, social empowerment and environmental issues.

Srikant Prabhakar, Project Director, District Rural Development Agency, V. Balamohan Das, former Vice-Chancellor of Acharya Nagarjuna University, Gopalakrishna, former mathematics professor, and others spoke.

NGO’s city unit in charge S. Prabhakar Rao and general secretary Chandrahas Tenneti explained about the objectives of their organisation.
