Two more golds for India

HANOI: India won two more gold medals in the Asian Indoor Games here on Saturday.

India defeated Qatar 66-0, 64-30 and 62-12 in the final to win the men’s team snooker gold. Cueists Manan Chandra, Aditya Mehta and Brijesh Damani formed the Indian side.

The quartet of Rehan Poncha, Sandeep Sejwal, Aaron D’Souza and Virdhawal Khade gave India another gold by winning the 4x100m men’s team medley relay. The Indian side clocked 3:37.03 to beat host Vietnam (3:37.85) by a margin of 0.82s. Hong Kong bagged the third spot with a timing of 3:37.91.

In kick-boxing, Shimpi R. Kamalakar bagged the women’s 50-kg semi-contact silver.

India got a bronze in mixed team rapid chess. Eesha Karavade, D. Harika, P. Harikrishna, Parimarjan Negi, K. Sasikiran and Tania Sachdev represented the country.

India finished seventh in the medals table with six gold, nine silver and 25 bronze. China topped with 48 gold, 25 silver and 19 bronze.
