Bheem Naik, Ricky shine

VISAKHAPATNAM: K.C. Bheem Naik of East Godavari and Visakhapatnam’s Ricky Bhui shared the limelight with fine centuries in the drawn matches of the ACA North Zone under-14 inter-district tournament for the P.N. Rajagopal trophy in Srikakulam on Saturday.

Bheem Naik made 170 off 188 balls in East Godavari’s total of 266 for seven declared against Srikakulam. Play was possible only on the second and last day after the first day was totally washed out. Ricky made 139 off 166 balls (22x4) as Visakhapatnam made 352 against Vizianagaram’s first innings total of 118.

The scores: Vizianagaram 118 and 76 for seven in 37 overs (S.S. Rambhadra 28, B. Giridhar three wickets for six runs, D.S.K.S. Nikhil three for 24) drew with Visakhapatnam 352 in 89.5 overs (Ricky Bhui 139, S. Avinash 55, D.S.K.S. Akhil 35, P. Tapasvi four for 72, M. Bharat three for 31). Visakhapatnam 3 points, Vizianagaram 1 point.

East Godavari 266 for seven decl. in 72 overs (K.C. Bheem Naik 170, Imtiaz 36) drew with Srikakulam 91 for three in 33 overs (R. Suraj Preetam 39 n.o., N.Sivakishan 32). East Godavari 1, Srikakulam 1 .
