THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Audit and Accounts Association has registered its protest against the dismissal of S. Anil Kumar, an employee of the Accountant-General’s (AG’s) Office here, on the charge of destroying a surveillance camera installed at the office. Convener K.N. Vijayakumar said in a release here on Friday that Mr. Anil was dismissed from service for taking part in an agitation against the move to privatise the fixation of pension benefits of State government employees. As many as 600 employees were facing disciplinary action for being part of the agitation that began in 2006. The promotion of 44 employees had been stalled and 14 others had been reverted. Inquiry was progressing against 20 employees. This amounted to violation of the right for organisational activities, Mr. Vijayakumar said.
