Stalin to inaugurate Samathuvapuram in Jolarpet panchayat union tomorrow

VELLORE: Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin will inaugurate the Periyar Memorial Samathuvapuram constructed at a cost of Rs.2 crore in Chandrapuram village panchayat in Jolarpet panchayat union at a function in Chandrapuram on Monday.

The samathuvapuram in Jolarpet panchayat union would be the eighth samathuvapuram in Vellore district. The other seven are in Poigai (Anaicut panchayat union), Perumbulipakkam (Nemili), Ammoor (Walajapet), Chinna Udayamuthur (Kandili), Semabarayanallur (Katpadi) and Gudalur (Kaveripakkam). Mr. Stalin will also inaugurate the police quarters constructed in Vellore and various other buildings constructed on behalf of the Department of Rural Development and Village Panchayats, Municipal Administration and Water Supply, Health and Family Welfare, School Education (Sarva Siksha Abhyan), Public Works and Forest, Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board, Urban Division, Tamil Nadu Adi Dravidar Housing and Development Corporation (TAHDCO) and Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University.

Besides, he would be laying the foundation for various scheme works on behalf of the Departments of Rural Development and Village Panchayats, Municipal Administration and Water Supply, Revenue, Health and Family Welfare, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan and Highways.

The Deputy Chief Minister would also distribute welfare aids to beneficiaries on behalf of the Departments of Rural Development and Village Panchayats, Municipal Administration and Water Supply, Social Welfare, Revenue, Public Health, Horticulture, Industries and Commerce, Adi Dravidar Welfare, Backward Classes Welfare, Agriculture, Labour Welfare, Cooperation, Sericulture, Agricultural Engineering, Fisheries and Forests, Tamil Nadu Women’s Development Corporation, TAHDCO and Vazhndhu Kattuvom Thittam.

Law Minister Durai Murugan would preside over the function, in which Union Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting S. Jegathrakshakan, and Director-General of Police K.P. Jain would participate.
