Plea against magic boxes admitted

BANGALORE: The Karnataka High Court has admitted a PIL petition challenging the use of pre-cast concrete structure, better known as magic boxes, by the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) for constructing underpasses.

The petitioner, K.N. Bhagavan, said the magic boxes which were now being widely used by the BBMP on several roads were not the answer to traffic hold-ups in the city. A Division Bench, headed by Chief Justice P.D. Dinakaran, admitted the petition and adjourned further hearing of the case.
