None will miss ration: Minister

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Office of Minister of Food and Civil Supplies has denied reports that about four lakh families would miss the rations on account change of ration cards. Rations could be brought using the old cards up to January next year. The distribution of 68 lakh cards was under way. Several opportunities had been given to card holders for taking their photographs and getting the new cards.

There would still be another opportunity for getting the pictures taken at the taluk supply offices for issue of new cards. The office said that about two lakh bogus cards were in circulation in the State. People using such cards were creating the scare that many would not be able to get their rations.
