8 projects selected for State-level science meet

HOSUR: Eight projects showcased by the students from across the district were selected for the State-level Children’s Science Conference to be held in Kings Engineering College, Kandarvakottai, near Thanjavur, from November 27 to 29.

A press release issued by R. Balakrishnan, District Coordinator, Tamil Nadu Science Forum, here on Friday stated that these projects were selected during the 17th Science Conference held in Sishya School here on Wednesday. As many as 66 science projects were displayed by the students from different schools in the district.

More than 300 students participated in the conference organised by the Forum.

Mr. Balakrishnan said that such conferences were organised to bring out the inherent science talents in the students. ‘Planet Earth’ was the theme of the conference.

Last year, 58 projects were submitted at the District-level Children’s Science Conference of which seven were selected for the State-level conference.

A project submitted by a student from Bargur Government Girls Higher Secondary School was selected for the National-level Children’s Science Conference, the release added.
