Services match unlikely at Anantapur

VIJAYAWADA: The second Plate Group ‘B’ Ranji match between Andhra and Services Sports Control Board (SSCB), scheduled to be held at Anantapur from November 10, may not take place owing to the ban on the SSCB team by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for forfeiting its match against Jammu and Kashmir.

According to sources in the Andhra Cricket Association, BCCI is likely to convene a meeting on Monday (November 9) to discuss the ban issue.

“Even if BCCI lifts the ban, it would be impossible to stage the match. Andhra team, after completing its Kerala assignment, will proceed to Anantapur for a week-long practice session before leaving to Vijayawada to play against Madhya Pradesh.” — Principal Correspondent
