Adulterated food products seized

NAMAKKAL: The Namakkal district administration has launched a major drive to check food adulteration here on Thursday. Several teams of officials conducted surprise checks in thousands of commercial establishments in different parts of the district and seized a large quantity of adulterated food products. A team of officials led by Collector U. Sagayam inspected the shops in Namakkal bus stand and the nearby areas. The team found a few shops selling goods even after the date of expiry. The drive was launched following widespread complaints from the public that many shops were selling adulterated food items Sundaramurthy, was arrested for manufacturing adulterated tea.
