Education loan mela

Tirupur: The four-leg education loan mela by the district administration in association with Canara Bank will commence in the district on November 6.
Official sources said that the mela would be held at Dharapuram (November 6), Udumalpet (November 11), Vellakoil (November 13) and Tirupur (November 16).
On the inaugural day, loan seekers from Dharapuram, Kundadam and Mulanur panchayat union limits could visit the stalls of various banks set up at Bishop Thorpe College to obtain credit.
Following is the list of venues for the remaining legs: Nadar Uravin Murai Thirumanamandapam (Udumalpet), Ponnusamy Gounder Thirumanamandapam (Vellakoil) and Town Hall (Tirupur). “The mela will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.,” Lead Bank Manager R. Murugesan said.
