CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday rejected the Rs. 20 per quintal hike in Minimum Support Price (MSP) for wheat from last year’s Rs. 1080 to Rs 1100 per quintal as he described it “woefully inadequate and unjustified.” In a statement, he said that the ‘meagre’ hike was nothing but a cruel joke on the beleaguered farmers who are already in distress due to low returns on their produce and high increase in cost of agricultural inputs.
