Kakinada: Collector Gopalakrishna Dwivedi said there was no need to have doubts about the Army recruitment rally which was being conducted in a transparent way and on the basis of merit. The selection of candidates was being done as per the norms, he asserted during his visit to the JNTU grounds and DSA stadium where the week-long rally was under way. Mr. Dwivedi spoke to the recruiting director Col. Tushar Roy who explained the procedures followed in the process of inducting potential candidates into the Army. The certificates are scrutinized before putting candidates to physical examination which is followed by medical tests. Three medical teams find out the health condition of candidates. On the occasion, Mr. Dwivedi said 6,000 to 7,000 candidates were appearing in the selections every day and 1,800 were being short-listed for further tests. Some 16,000 candidates took part in the selections in the last three days. Youth would have rewarding careers in the Army which was giving good salaries and providing all types of facilities, he observed. SETRAJ Chief Executive Officer K Satyanarayana, manager Srinivasa Rao and others were present. Superintendent of Police Y Nagi Reddy has later flagged off a running rally organized to pick up suitable persons for soldier tradesmen posts.
