Death of students condoled

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor R.S. Gavai has expressed grief over the death of eight students in a boat accident in the Chaliyar River in Malappuram district on Wednesday.

“I am deeply shocked and saddened by the tragic boat accident at Moorkanad Ferry in the Chaliyar River in Malappuram district that claimed as many as eight lives of students of Arikkode Higher Secondary School. While conveying my heart-felt condolences to the bereaved families, I pray for the speedy recovery of the survivors,” the Governor said in a condolence message.

Ministers, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president Ramesh Chennithala and Bharatiya Janata Party State president P.K. Krishnadas expressed their grief.

Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) State president Syed Hyderali Shihab Thangal and general secretary P.K. Kunhalikutty also expressed their condolence.
