Hat-trick by Ravishankar

CHENNAI: T. Ravishankar’s hat-trick helped Infosys beat Sify Technologies by three wickets in the Unitech Corporate Twenty20 tournament here on Tuesday.

The scores:

Sify Tech. 112 for nine in 18 overs (Shyam 25, Padmanabhan 33, T. Ravishankar four for 22, incl. a hat-trick) lost to Infosys 113 for seven in 17.2 overs (Ramprasad 35, Vinoth three for 28).

Wipro 134 for eight in 18 overs (Karthik 29, K. Dinesh 33) bt 3T 97 for nine in 18 overs.

Hindustan Lever 208 for six in 18 overs (Babu 59, Murthy 83, Thomas three for 30) bt Keane India 86 in 18 overs (Karmuhilan 25, Ganapathy three for 19, Abiroop three for 25).

Kotak Mahindra Bank 125 for eight in 20 overs (Pradeep 28, Mullai Nathan three for 12, K.S. Rajasekar four for 20) lost to TNT India 126 for two in 18 overs (K.G. Sriram 39, Rajiv Gandhi 46).

EDAC Engg. 20 in 9.5 overs lost to Aircel 21 for two in four overs.

Keane India 92 in 19.3 overs lost to Accenture 93 for one 10.4 overs (Prashanth 32 n.o.).

Prabhu’s knock in vain

S. Prabhu’s century (101) went in vain as Krishnaraj RC went down to Adambakkam CC in a first division match held recently in the TNCA-Kancheepuram DCA league.

II div:

Prahlad CC 127 for five in 30 overs (A. Venkatesh 34 not out, Mithun three for 30) bt Asian Sports Club 83 in 24.1 overs (S. Ashwath 37, Ajay Pothan three for nine).

Fine Star CC 128 in 29.4 overs (V.S. Shivaram four for 17, N. Dinesh three for 24) bt Facit Asia RC 103 in 27.3 overs (I. Syed Imran Ahmed three for 15).

Rolon racing final round

The Madras Motor Race Track, Irungattukottai, will host the fifth and final round of the Rolon FMSCI National Racing Championship this weekend, with the qualifying sessions on Saturday and the main races on Sunday.

At the end of four rounds, the TVS Racing duo of P. Karthik and Harry Sylvester lead the expert category in the Group B four-stroke 130-165cc class with 74 and 59 points respectively.

Their teammate T.K. Vishwanath, on 37 points, will face a stiff fight from R. Deepak for third spot, with only three points separating the two.

Sathyabama triumphs

Sathyabama University won the Mahendra Drems Trophy in the all-India inter-collegiate basketball tournament organised by the Mahendra Engineering College in Thiruchenkode in Erode district recently. In the final, Sathyabama defeated SRM University 59-53.

Tennis coaching classes

The Nandanam Betterment Association Tennis Coaching Centre is organising tennis coaching classes from November 8. Classes (boys and girls) will be held in the morning (6 a.m. onwards) and evening (3 p.m.) (Sundays only evening).
