Cong. first list for Jharkhand
Special Correspondent
NEW DELHI: The Congress on Tuesday announced its first list of 26 candidates for the Jharkhand Assembly elections. Though there was no official word on whether it would continue with its efforts to stitch up an alliance with Jharkhand Vikas Manch (JVM) of the former Chief Minister, Babulal Marandi, the release of the list signalled a toughening of stance vis-À-vis a pre-poll tie-up. The list includes several leading lights of Jharkhand politics, including the former MP Thomas Hansda, party’s working president in the State Furkan Ansari from Jamtara, and the former State Ministers, Stephen Marandi from Dumka and O.P. Lal from Baghmara.
