Software engineer crushed to death

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: A software engineer, returning home on his bike after picking up a friend from Jubilee Bus Stand, was crushed to death by an 18-wheeled vehicle at Kukatpally on Tuesday.

N. Murali Krishna, 24, and his friend, V. Srinivas, sitting pillion, were heading towards Madinaguda from Kukatpally when the accident occurred around 6.30 a.m. Krishna tried to overtake the heavy vehicle from right, but its driver too turned right simultaneously and hit the bike.

“The motorcyclist got sandwiched between the road divider and the heavy vehicle. The heavy vehicle ran over Krishna’s head as he fell off the bike,” the Kukatpally Sub-Inspector, Rajashekhar, said. Krishna wore a helmet but it was crushed into pieces under the weight of the vehicle’s wheels.
