HYDERABAD: The first list of Congress candidates for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) polls is likely to be released late on Thursday night. With over 6,000 applications flooding the APCC, the scrutiny committee of the party is expected to submit a list of three candidates for each of the 150 divisions to the APCC president D. Srinivas. The shortlisted names are likely to be further vetted by the APCC chief and the Chief Minister K. Rosaiah before the final list is announced on Thursday night. The last day for filing of nominations is Friday. ConsultationsMr. Srinivas in an informal chat with reporters on Tuesday said that the party would consult the city MPs and MLAs before finalising the list. In all probability the recommendations of the local legislator would be taken into consideration. The scrutiny committee comprising Ministers P. Sabitha Indra Reddy, Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Danam Nagender, Anam Ramnarayan Reddy and former Minister Md. Ali Shabbir met once again to scrutinise the applications. Meanwhile, sources said the party was likely to rope in Ministers for electioneering. One Minister each will deputed to a constituency in the city as well as Ranga Reddy district, which forms part of GHMC limits. The party is planning to launch its campaign after November 10.
