Official committee on ESI dispensaries

CHENNAI: An official committee has been set up to go into the issue of rationalisation of 191 Employees State Insurance (ESI) dispensaries in the State. This was decided at a meeting of the Regional Board of the ESI Corporation. T.M. Anbarasan, Labour Minister, chaired the meeting.

According to T. Prabhakara Rao, Principal Secretary (Labour and Employment), the committee was expected to give its findings in a month. He cited the example of Sriperumpudur where the need for such dispensaries had now arisen. — Special Correspondent
