Delimitation challenged

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: Three residents of Bangalore on Tuesday challenged the process of delimitation adopted by the State in delimiting wards for the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike. Kempalakamma, R. Venkatesh and S. Nataraj — from the Horamavu, Kaveripura and Ayappa Nagar wards respectively — claimed that when the notification of delimitation was issued in 2009, the wards’ population were shown to have decreased. This, they said, was illegal and illogical. They urged the court to stay all further proceedings.

Justice H.N. Nagmohan Das adjourned further hearing of the cases.
