Special medical camp at Mela Ponnagaram

MADURAI: Deputy Mayor P.M. Mannan inaugurated a special medical camp to prevent Chikungunya in three wards of West Zone at the Corporation maternity hospital at West Ponnagaram.

He said that such camps were being organised in all the wards to prevent Chikungunya and viral fever. Adequate publicity would be made about the camps. Besides treatment for viral fever, free treatment for eye defects, diabetes, blood pressure and anaemia would be given. Blood test for malaria, ECG test, paediatric and orthopaedic treatment and scan facility could be availed free of cost.

Identity cards would be issued to enable patients to get further treatment at nearby Government hospital. Twenty medical officers, 50 nurses and other staffers would be present at the medical camp.

City Health Officer V. Subramaniam and Assistant City Health Officer Yasodhamani were present.
