Law college students block road

Coimbatore: Demanding immediate disbursement of education advance students of Government Law College blocked Marudhamalai Road on Tuesday morning.

It is learnt that the students were agitated over the non disbursement of financial assistance for education to 450 students amounting to Rs 22.50 lakhs last year as well as for this year even after five months of the commencement of the academic year.

The students had been on an agitation for quite some time.

The South tahsildar, P. Subramanian, held talks with the students. Later, they withdrew the agitation.
