Rescued reptiles released in the forest
Staff Reporter
BANGALORE: An eight-foot rock python and a monitor lizard, both rescued by an animal welfare organisation, were released into the B.M. Kaval Forest near here on Tuesday.
People For Animals, the non-profit conservation organisation, had caught both the reptiles in separate operations after the public alerted them. The rock python was caught from a coconut grove in Golahalli, while the monitor lizard was rescued from Upparpet.
The python, which was dehydrated, was brought to the PFA shelter, where it was kept for two weeks before being declared fit for release.
