Jama ath committee extends cooperation Officials accused of delaying work Thiruvananthapuram: The Trivandrum Residents Apex Council (TRAC) has urged the government to complete the work on the fishing harbour at Vizhinjam. Office-bearers of the Vizhinjam Jama ath committee told a TRAC delegation last week that they fully supported the project and wanted to see it completed soon. They said the construction work had been bogged down by the efforts of a section of officials. Jama ath leaders told TRAC president Amaravila Ramakrishnan Nair and general secretary K.T. Roy that they would cooperate with the government in taking the project forward. They said the maqbara near the project site could be retained and walled off without hindering the work on the wharf. A press note issued by TRAC urged the government to implement the project in a time-bound manner. It also appealed to the government to ensure proper rehabilitation of the displaced families.
