Students held for assault
CHENNAI: Three college students were arrested on charges of assaulting an advocate on Monday night.
According to police sources, the advocate, Devendran, lodged a complaint with the Esplanade police that P. Senthil Kumar (21) of Rajiv Gandhi Nagar in Maduravoyal, B. Anbu (20) of Vel Nagar in Maduravoyal and V. Jayapratap (20) of Indira Nagar in Adyar assaulted him. The three students were arrested and let on bail, the sources added.
Man arrested
The Central Crime Branch on Tuesday arrested a man on charges of refusing to vacate a property which he sold over two years ago to Maria Pushpam, a resident of Pattinappakkam. R.Venkatesan (70), a resident of Adambakkam, was arrested for holding on to the 2,800-sq.ft. property which he had sold to Pushpam for a sum of Rs.70 lakh on May 9, 2007.
