Bangles Galore: Gujarati bangles embellished by Australian diamonds are much in demand at the exhibition of handicrafts and handloom products at the Women’s Association Hall in the city. KOCHI: An exhibition-cum-sale of handicrafts and handloom items of Gujarat consisting of colourful dresses, gift items, cloth, leather bags, jewellery, purses, gloves and puppets made of cloth and wood is on at the Women’s Association Hall on Diwan’s Road in the city. The show is on from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and it will go on till November 15, organisers said. Besides utility items, also on show is jewellery from Rajasthan, semi-precious stones, rare idol collections of gods and goddesses and candle stands. A speciality of the exhibition is the vast array of dresses – from sarees, churidhars and bed sheets – from various North Indian states, said the manager K. Arunachalam. Also available are carpets, doormatsand different types of mats. Products costing from Rs. 10 to Rs. 10,000 are displayed. It also offers 20 per cent rebate on handlooms and 10 per cent on handicraft items.
