TTDC now offers trekking trips at Trisoolam, Topslip

CHENNAI: The eco-tourism wing of Tamil Nadu Tourism Development Corporation (TTDC) will conduct trekking-cum-awareness programmes in Trisoolam and the Topslip range in the next few days to make youth realise the importance of preserving nature. The half-day programme at Trisoolam, Chennai, will be held on November 7 from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. The second programme at Topslip range in Valparai Hills will be conducted for three and half days from November 13 to November 16.
“We recently conducted the first trek to Shervaroyan Hills range which was attended by over 60 persons. Enthused by the result, we are conducting the second programme in Chennai. A coach will leave from the TTDC office, Wallajah Road, at 6 a.m and reach the Trisoolam railway station. From there it will be a 5-km five kilometre trek. The participants will be charged Rs.200 per head,” a TTDC official said.
Nature walk
For Topslip trip, the coach will depart from TTDC office on November 13 evening.On November 14 and 15, a regulated nature walk for participants has been planned in and around Valparai, including an elephant ride on the final day.
The cost per person inclusive of stay, transportation and food is Rs.2,000.
The last date for registration is November 11.
