CHANDIGARH: Union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad on Tuesday said that private pharma companies were in the advanced stage of developing vaccine for Influenza-A H1N1 and it would be ready by March-April next year. Speaking at the Convocation of the PGI here, Mr. Azad said that a new Department of Health Research had been created in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare under the guidance of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He added that the Department of Health Research was currently engaged in promoting and developing a new vaccine for the first time in the country. It has also been asked to develop low cost testing kits for H1N1 virus and also for diabetes testing.
