Andhra Pradesh DGP warns Maoists

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Director-General of Police R.R. Girish Kumar has warned Maoists not to underestimate the capabilities of the Police Department and assured people that they were geared up to meet any challenge posed by the naxalites.

The Maoists were resorting to violence in areas bordering Orissa and Chhattisgarh. They had attacked police and civilians in the past, Mr. Girish Kumar said in his address at the passing out parade of the 10th batch of Civil Stipendiary Cadet Trainee Police Constables in Amberpet here on Tuesday.

The DGP exhorted the cadets to dedicate themselves to social service and not to neglect the weaker sections.
