Corpn. staff suspended

Tirupur: Tirupur Corporation Commissioner R. Jayalakshmi has placed four Corporation staff in the health section under suspension on Tuesday following allegations of imposing excess charges from users of the public toilet functioning at the Old Bus Stand.

Official sources said that Sanitary Inspector Shanmugasundaram and three other employees, P.Bhoopathy, A Nagaraj and Santanam were found responsible for the incident after some councillors raised the issue in the last council meeting held a few days ago and hence the suspension.
